How Your Ecommerce Website Can Recover From Panda

As I have already stated, it’s very difficult to manage and optimize the e-commerce websites as they have more than hundreds of product pages which needs extra care while optimizing. When you have more than hundreds of product page on the website, chances are that you will get caught by Google Panda. Most of the developers usually copy content from their competitors and then post it on the website which attracts the attention of Panda.

According to reports of Google team, more than 60% of traffic dropped due to content farming, although some of the websites also benefited from Panda.  Dynamic URLs make it more complicated because of the auto generated web pages; you should make sure that all the auto/cart generated pages have “NOINDEX”, “NOFOLLOW” because if your website has any copy content then it can affect the original and unique pages.

Have a look at the post from Google which has some specific guidelines for marketers by Google:-

One other specific piece of guidance we've offered is that low-quality content on some parts of a website can impact the whole site’s rankings, and thus removing low quality pages, merging or improving the content of individual shallow pages into more useful pages, or moving low quality pages to a different domain could eventually help the rankings of your higher-quality content.

When it comes to the shallow pages, they are mainly referred as the pages which have very low quality content and don’t have any value. To know more about shallow pages, click here.  Almost all the e-commerce websites which were hit by Panda has pages with duplicate content which resulted in shallow page level. Most of the e-commerce websites offer variety of products, for instance, if a clothing store offers products of different sizes/colors and each product will definitely have a separate page.

If your website is offering 30 products in a particular section and that particular product has around 5 sizes and 10 colors, then there will be around 1500 unique pages. Rather than writing 1500 product descriptions ( which is a little difficult), you should write 30 product descriptions for the product page and then use a drop down so that users can pick the right product accordingly.

Ecommerce websites can recover from Panda, but every SEO tale involves humility and a lot of hard work!

What Google's Hummingbird Update Affects Websites

There’s no question that the Hummingbird algorithm is only the beginning of change in search optimization, but smart content creators can be prepared to thrive in this and any environment that may come in the future.
Hummingbird, which is the name of Google's latest search algorithm, is designed to provide web users with enhanced results. An algorithm refers to the way Google sorts through the millions of search results to provide only the most relevant ones. Hummingbird had already rolled out last month.

Panda squashed bad content. Penguin froze low-quality links. And now, did Hummingbird eat link building?

Nothing has changed. If you have original, high-quality content, and you have high-quality and relevant websites linking to your own website, then your website is still going to rank well.

Many people have been upset by Panda and Penguin, and they’ll now see Hummingbird in a negative light. Don’t fall into that trap. If you’re the best at what you do, these updates Google has been continuing out are opportunities to separate yourself from your competition. They may have been engaging in spamming policy to get good SERP rankings, but if you’ve been focus on creating content that provides real value to possible trusted customers, their days are numbered. These changes will help you rise above, and the good news, as mentioned above, is if you’ve been doing the right things for your SEO you don’t need to change a thing.

Let’s get a look at what Hummingbird way for the prospect of link building.

In general, Hummingbird –‘Google says’ is a new engine built on both accessible and new parts, planned in a way to specially hand out the search load of today, rather than one created for the needs of ten years ago, with the technologies back then.

No. Link building is alive and well. But the description of link building sure does need to transform. As Will Critchlow from Distilled says, “Link building is a dreadful name for what we do.” And that is true for so many reasons.

SEOs used to be able to use links and other factors to scam Google into thoughts that their search website was more trustworthy and helpful than it actually was. Hummingbird once again makes the end user the unlimited focus of search results. We can’t scam Google anymore! Building links to less-than-amazing content will fail. Google will notice high bounce rates, the lack of natural social sharing, and a variety of other quality signals no matter how many links you build — maybe even faster with Hummingbird.

Have you seen any crash to your websites as an effect of the Hummingbird update?

Do you see any details in the update you feel will give you a benefit?

Google webmasters is the same as always, I encourage original, high-quality content, since that’s what’s best for web users… Cheers!

Videos that demonstrate step by step procedures are great, videos that express an opinion about a specific topic can be useful too. Videos that have nothing to do with your brand or service offering or are general or vague in nature will just confuse your audience. Google Penguin: why did he found the high and dry?

He is black and white. His name starts with a P. You're more likely to encounter on the street than Google. No it is not the Panda but the Penguin Google.

On our screens since April 25 last, the arrival of the new algorithm Google is a little past unnoticed ... To believe that the penguin is less frightening than the panda. At Insitaction, we wanted to know why Google Penguin has so quickly found underwater.
Google Penguin: less frightening than the Panda?
For those not familiar, Google Penguin is the new Google algorithm . Its mission? Penalize (and kicked out of the ice) the Black hat , as the sites practices  SEO malicious. Why? To provide users with search results more relevant still.

If your site includes
·         of  irrelevant links (eg link "health insurance" in the blog Insitaction )
·         of backlinks purchased
·         too many backlinks with the same anchor (text description) ...
expect to see him lose places in the great Google ranking.
While its predecessor, Google Panda hunted duplicate content on the web, Google Penguin it deals mostly backlinks (links and false) .
Why Google Penguin has happened to the hatch?
Google Panda , everyone was talking about. All bloggers had feared. All web editors wanted to challenge him.  Google Penguin , it passes almost unnoticed. Why?

1. The updates to the Google algorithm have become so frequent that no one wants to talk. Knowing that there are a hundred a year, the topic quickly became tiresome (not to be vulgar). So bloggers are talking about only when the updates are really worth. Does  Google Penguin is not worth the trouble? Do not be so sure.

It's just that his time in France was less destructive than the passage of his predecessor Panda. In neighboring countries by cons, and particularly in England, some sites have not been able to stay long on the ice (in the top 10 Google ). Circulate a petition to England even for Google to reconsider its decision and cancels this last update.

2. Another idea: some bloggers like to say that the updates to Google's algorithm are merely ploys to highlight the site "partners" in Google and exclude others. Following the passage of Panda, some rumors even say that  Google is losing manually tickets to certain large sites to give more seats to their favorite sites, in the first pages. Considered by some as "subjective algorithms", why pay attention?

The guide of good SEO Google

To all those who do not want to rub Penguin , know that Google has posted the  guide of good SEO .

For Google there are two types of SEO: SEO good and bad SEO .
The good SEOs , the impeccable behavior, are called the "  White hat ". Bad, deviant, are called the "  Black hat ". Not to switch to the dark side of force, avoid:

·         the use of hidden links
·         the use of mirror sites
·         the hype of keywords
·         the duplication of content

And be sure to follow the law Google (see Manual of good SEO).
If despite this, your site is found still ejected from the ice, you can express your dismay at Google. It will reassess your position. If instead you realize that your neighbor, obscure practices, was not caught, you can terminate it via a platform created by Google (motto: "  Together fight the evil! ", the word betrayal is also acceptable).

Beneficial or not, the arrival of this new algorithm Penguin gives us just want to discover what the next furry companion of Google (and incidentally it will change on the canvas).

SEO tips 2012 from our expert

Today we'll go to an expert: we interviewed on "SEO and SEO". She is the specialist SEO team of Online Marketing at Online-SEO-Services.com. It explains why SEO is so important for website owners and gives some tips for a successful referral. A must read!

2. Can you tell us why SEO is important and what are the key points?

SEO is very important for a Webmaster to his site to be found easily on the Internet! Imagine that tools like Google do not exist - how could we, mere visitors find what they seek among the millions of websites present on the canvas?

This is why search engines were created and performed this work for us. They scour the web to reference and rank sites for do we provide the results most relevant to our research. And because there is rarely a single website on the subject and that concurrency can be harsh, it is advisable for a Webmaster to monitor and regularly referencing his work. Basically, a site is always a particular purpose for its owner (to publicize his work, his business, his passion). And whatever purpose, must get visitors to reach it! And get visitors passes including search engines.

3. What are the important points to get a good position in Google and other search engines?

In fact, it relies on a simple principle: Your page must have relevant content. Ie corresponding to the search performed by visitors on the search engine and provides them with information. And as having relevant content is not so simple, we need to ask the right questions.

A website is relevant to a search on a search engine, if the search returns a result that will satisfy the visitor, that is to say capable of providing the information they seek.

This implies that the site content is tailored to the visitor and what is likely to seek work. Furthermore, this content must be unique. It is strongly advised not to copy content from another site and not only questions of law. If robots are a search engine on your site 2 identical content which are at different addresses, it is called "duplicate content" and that implies a risk that page disappear from search engine results .

4. How can users optimize their site for SEO?

Search engines work with robots called "Crawlers", these are programs that run the Internet and analyze the pages to rank them and reference them. They visit the websites at regular intervals. It is therefore important that the pages are easy to visit and analyze for these robots.

Relevant information for search engines:

In the settings of your site you will find the "Bots". This is where you will be able to enter pertinent data for search engines. This information can facilitate the work of robots "crawl": Indicate the title of your website and a description which will then be displayed in the results pages of search engines. They must be short and well summarize the content of your site, your pages, and also: they must make people want the user to click and visit your site!

Choose a theme for its sub-sections:

Management sub-categories of your site and their corresponding pages is very important: at best, each of these pages will address a specific topic that you can identify key mos. These keywords must ultimately also be present in the content of these pages, and at regular intervals (3 to 5% of keywords in your text). That's basically how you go and tell the robots: "These keywords are important and best match the content of my page." You facilitate and work with robots in terms of analysis and ranking of your site.

5. Can you suggest some links where users can find more information?

Yes, the tool of Google Keywords Tool for example, lets look at what the terms sought by Internet users. Just enter one or more of these keywords, this tool shows and other keywords related to them and the number of searches on them. A very good way to know on which keywords to focus!

There are also many news sites, blogs and forums to track the news related to SEO and form a self-taught as and when!

6. What are the trends of SEO for the coming months?

The goal of search engines is in the forefront to offer ever more relevant results and meet the expectations of users. For this, they regularly change the "rules" and the "weight" that may have some factors in the final standings. Like last year with the famous update of the Google algorithm (Panda).

If the antiquity of the site (its domain), the number of links to the site leaders or the regular presence of keywords in the content remain important factors, the trend is increasingly to real analysis "quality" of such content. Do they provide quality information, current and unique visitors? The pages of the site in question are they rich or information-packed them instead of just advertising? It is these elements that search engines tend increasingly to be considered.

Of course, we must not forget the aspect of "social" with the emergence of social networks like Facebook or Google + which would return more and more into play for a better ranking based on the following logic: more content site is shared and will be discussed on social networks, the more content is likely to be relevant and interesting.

A simple way for users to optimize their Jimdo site for referencing, searching for that "quality" is also to analyze the visits from people who visit their site including which pages are most "views", how long they remain on a particular page and try to draw conclusions about the content of interest to the reader.

7. Finally: what tools and modules Jimdo you advise to use Jimdonautes who wish to work their ranking?

A first step might be to keep a blog (Blog and module option "View Blog) and to incorporate regular and fresh content related to recent site activity.

Of course the social aspect, the modules "Share" and "Facebook" are not to neglect the end of the article, but also on the web pages to allow visitors to share content on various existing networks .

And for the most experienced, perhaps begin to familiarize themselves with the use of Google Analytics (built in part on the Pro and Business versions) to better understand the expectations of visitors.
